The Social Affairs Bureau stated that today’s forum featured three main thematic sessions. Breast surgeon Yu-Chieh Tsai shared his experience interacting with gender diverse communities in clinical practice. The gender friendly business Guoshi Nanzi spoke about its entrepreneurial journey. Drag queen Michelle shared how, from first encountering drag performance to stepping onto the competition stage, she continued to push her limits through repeated practice and performances and ultimately found her true self. Through her interactions with audiences, she also came to feel that society is gradually becoming more understanding and accepting of gender diversity.
The Social Affairs Bureau pointed out that participants in the forum included practitioners from social welfare organizations, the medical and nursing fields, and the education sector. The Bureau hopes that, through discussion, participants will further reflect on how to put gender friendly practices into action in their respective fields and then extend those efforts from the workplace into the community, working together to make Taichung a friendly city grounded in respect and inclusion.
